So You Think You Can Dance - Episode Three

Finally, the auditions reached Sydney. The standard was a lot higher than in the other cities, with lots of good dancers still needing to go through the choreography stage before being given their ticket to the top 100. Compared with less impressive dancers in other states who were given tickets straight through, it will be interesting to see how many of the top 50 and 20 end up being from Sydney.

The highlights of this episode were seeing dancers that I know perform. Three of my teachers from Sydney Dance Company Studios featured tonight - Kassy (who I already know got through to the top 20), Michael and Marko.

This episode also featured pole dancers - a first for the show in any country. Can they dance as well as spin upside down in their underwear? It appears they can, with at least one going through to the top 100.

Channel Ten have some good video clips that you should check out if you miss any episodes.

On a non-related note, our TV has weird aspect-ratio for Channel Ten, which makes everyone look overweight. They say the camera adds ten pounds - our plasma ads 50 :P

Updated: Anthony's contemporary audition in Syd. Really nice.

Wow. That must have been amazing watching dancers you know. And Anthony is incredible. To be able to dance like that, hard work, but the freedom the fluidity of the moves, amazing. And he doesn't need fancy pants with one leg cut off either!
